Join us on a guilt free journey exploring Fair-trade

Tess and Alex are students of Otago University exploring fair trade in Dunedin. What is fair trade? Can our shopping decisions here in NZ really make a difference in places like Guatemala and West Africa? We want to see what fair trade products we can find in Dunedin, and make them easier for you to find. Join us we try to find out how to make workplaces or schools fair trade. And no guilt! Just happy farmers, happy Dunedinites and lots of really good coffee!! (and chocolate too.. and maybe soccer balls..)

And, just in case you didn’t know, Dunedin is aiming to become the first Fair Trade City in New Zealand. There is an active campaign to encourage more cafes to sell only fair trade coffee and to persuade to Dunedin City Council to become a fair trade workplace. Will we make it?

Ah! You’re Dunedin down under and not Scotland! Perhaps a bit far to come then for our conference :-(

Ha, yes, we are Dunedin, New Zealand – aka “the Edinburgh of the South” and apparently we have the most pipe-bands per capita of anywhere in the world.. hmm not sure if I should spread that statistic.. Your Fair Trade conference is a little far away but it’s nice to be asked! Hope is goes well! I might put a link up on our site..

Hello there,

I could not find your email contact – I wanted to get in touch with you about a short film about FAIR TRADE that my partner and I have just produced, and which has just won a film competition on the subject…
Hope to hear from you soon, thx

P.

Fantastic blog! Dunedin was my home for 4 years not too long ago, so your blog does evoke especially fond memories…

Good job with Trade Aid promotion too, I’ve just started volunteering with the Wellington branch!
